Pineapple Awards’ Shortlisting
26th January 2026Furnace Hill and Neepsend has been shortlisted for a Pineapple Award in the Future Place category!
Developed with Arup for Homes England and Sheffield City Council, the Heritage led masterplan sets out a long-term, people-first vision for transforming 4.4 hectares of historic industrial neighbourhoods into mixed, inclusive places. The framework supports over 1,300 new homes, alongside workspace, independent shops, cultural and community uses, new public squares, green spaces and improved riverside access.
The work helped secure £67 million of public funding to unlock regeneration on complex brownfield land. It demonstrates how collaborative designs rooted in an understanding of the area’s heritage and character, which prioritise re-use and low-carbon approaches, can create real momentum to shape our cities.
A big thank you to everyone involved in getting the project to this point.
