GPAD appointed for feasibility brief from City of London
We have been appointed by the City of London Corporation, the governing body of the Square Mile, to prepare a feasibility study for a business campus in the Shoreditch/City Fringe area on a site comprising 11 buildings.
This appointment was competitive with GPAD one of three practices involved in the tender process.
We are developing a phased strategy for integrating the buildings into a cohesive site. The feasibility study will explore how the site can be used coherently and create a new business district in Shoreditch/City Fringe which enhances the area for both residents and those working in the area.
The considered approach to multiple buildings will propose an enhanced streetscape as well as more efficient site usage. Options being explored include vertical extension of buildings, unlocking the central void of the block for external use as well as sharing external space, facilities and circulation areas.
